Services of San Diego Depression and Anxiety Treatment
Individual Psychotherapy– In this mode of treatment, Dr. Peck meets with individuals one-on-one, face to face, and generally on a once/weekly basis, to discuss the issues they present, identify problem areas and work toward meeting therapeutic goals together. Couples Therapy – Dr. Peck meets with an individual and their partner, usually on a once a week basis, focusing on issues that cause difficulties or present challenges to the relationship. She helps the pair identify their concerns, and then helps them learn ways to resolve their conflicts in constructive ways, so that they will have a happier, more fulfilling relationship. Psychoanalysis– this is a form of treatment whose aim is to achieve deep and lasting psychological change. To accomplish this, Dr. Peck typically meets with the patient for four or five sessions per week, and the patient lies on a couch and attempts to say everything that comes to mind. The treatment generally occurs over a period of years (rather than weeks or months), and during this time, as the patient speaks, certain patterns of behavior emerge, and ideally underlying sources of the patient’s difficulties become more clear and conscious in discussions over time with the analyst, resulting in changes to crippling life patterns and removal of incapacitating symptoms, and improved freedom to love and work.
